About Ba Adab Ba Mulahiza

Ba Adab Ba Mulahiza drops viewers into a fictional medieval court where King Jabir-ud-Daulah (Qasim Jalali) has perfected a shameless style of rule: corruption is welcome as long as the throne receives its share. Around him, the Queen (Arsh-e-Muneer), the Prince (Malik Anokha), another ruler (Qazi Wajid), the court historian (Subhani Ba Yunus), and the Queen's brother (Aftab Alam) become part of a royal circus built on flattery, greed and hollow displays of justice.

Written by Ather Shah Khan and directed by Haider Imam Rizvi, this PTV comedy turns palace protocol into political satire. Its sharpest symbol is the king's neglected chain of justice, maintained for appearances while ordinary subjects remain unheard. The period setting gives the drama room to lampoon bad governance, self-serving authority and the absurd language of power without tying its barbs to a single era. It is a compact, character-rich classic for viewers who like their courtly manners served with a sly sting.

Editor’s Take

Our favorite trick is the chain of justice: a grand promise reduced to palace decor while King Jabir-ud-Daulah treats public grievance as a branding problem. Ather Shah Khan's inversion is simple, nasty and still startlingly current. Our one gripe? The royal caricatures are deliberately broad, so the satire sometimes announces its target before the punchline lands. Even so, few court comedies make rotten governance look this ridiculous, or this familiar. The crown has rarely worn corruption so shamelessly.
