Privacy Policy

Overview

PakMediaTrendz (“we”, “this site”) is an independent website that ranks Pakistani dramas and music using public YouTube viewing statistics. We collect as little personal data as we can: the site has no user accounts, no sign-in, and sets no tracking cookies of its own. This page explains what little data is involved in running the site, and the third-party services that appear on it.

Information we collect

Server logs. Like almost every website, our server records standard request logs — IP address, browser user-agent, the page requested, and a timestamp. We use these only to keep the site secure and working (rate limiting, abuse prevention, and debugging). Logs are rotated routinely and are not used to build visitor profiles.

Content you submit. If you submit content through an interactive feature (for example audience ratings or reviews, when that feature is available), we store what you chose to submit — such as a star rating, a display name, and review text. For abuse prevention we also store a one-way cryptographic hash (SHA-256) derived from your IP address and browser user-agent; the raw address itself is not stored with your submission.

Your watchlist. The watchlist is saved in your own browser’s local storage. It never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers. Clearing your browser data deletes it.

Third-party services

YouTube API Services. Rankings, view counts, and video metadata come from YouTube API Services — the public statistics attached to videos on YouTube. By using this site you also interact with data provided under Google’s terms; see the Google Privacy Policy. Watching an episode or song always happens on YouTube itself, under YouTube’s own terms and privacy policy.

Fonts and scripts. Web fonts load from Google Fonts and one JavaScript library loads from the jsDelivr CDN. When your browser fetches those files, those services receive your IP address and user-agent, as with any web request. Their own privacy policies apply.

Advertising and cookies

PakMediaTrendz itself sets no advertising or analytics cookies. To fund the site we use (or plan to use) Google AdSense. When ads are shown, third-party vendors — including Google — use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some other third-party vendors’ cookies at www.aboutads.info. Visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom are asked for consent before advertising cookies are used. For more detail, see how Google uses cookies in advertising.

Your choices and rights

You can browse the entire site without submitting anything. You can clear or block local storage and cookies in your browser settings at any time. Children

This is a general-audience site about television and music. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example when advertising goes live — we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Significant changes will be visible here rather than announced elsewhere.
