About BALU MAHI

A wrong turn into a wedding hall sends Bilal, known as Balu (Osman Khalid Butt), into someone else's escape plan. He arrives hoping to stop his former love's marriage, only to confess to Mahi (Ainy Jaffri), a bride with no wish to accept the match arranged for her. Mahi grabs the chance to flee, and the unlikely pair set off with her family's expectations close behind.

Their road trip turns a public mistake into a private argument about who gets to choose a future. Balu wrestles with an old heartbreak while Mahi refuses to surrender her freedom. Along the way, the comedy makes room for romance, chases and the pressure that family can place on a young woman's decisions. With Sadaf Kanwal, Javed Sheikh and Durdana Butt among the supporting players, Haissam Hussain's film finds its spark in the clash between a cautious young man and a bride determined to live on her own terms.

Editor’s Take

We love how Haissam Hussain lets Lahore glow around Balu and Mahi's scrappy escape, while Osman Khalid Butt and Ainy Jaffri keep their mismatched partnership bright and funny. Sadaf Kanwal's comic timing gives the supporting cast extra bite. Our gripe is the loose, overextended second half: the momentum that carried us out of the wedding hall begins to wander. Still, the landscapes and the leads make this a road romance with genuine bounce.
