Chhapar Phaar Kay turns a scrap dealer's windfall into a lively family comedy about money, status and love. Shakoor supports his household by buying and selling scrap, stubbornly resisting Fareeda's demand that he become a contractor like the wealthier Gulzar. Their daughter Dilruba has her own complication: she is in love with Gulzar's son Ashiq, her childhood fiance, and Shakoor has caught the young couple meeting more than once. Then an antique television recovered from the late Mr Tufail's bungalow sends Shakoor's modest life in an astonishing new direction.
