About Daagh

Daagh follows Umama (Mehar Bano), a young woman raised in a home where daughters are treated as burdens and the absence of a son becomes a mother's supposed failure. She falls in love with university classmate Murad (Fahad Mustafa), defies her stern father's preferred match, and enters a marriage that initially promises the tenderness she never saw at home. Nine years and four daughters later, that promise begins to buckle. Murad's anxiety about responsibility, his mother's relentless demand for a grandson, and cousin Deeba's (Sana Askari) long-held fixation on him close in around Umama. Writer Sarwat Nazeer turns one family's domestic pressure into a bruising portrait of how son preference travels across generations, while Sarmad Khoosat's direction keeps the conflict intimate. With Firdous Jamal, Talha Mufti, and Uroosa Siddique in the ensemble, Daagh asks whether love can withstand a household determined to measure a woman's worth by the child she bears.
