About Dar Si Jati Hai Sila

In Noor Manzil, a crowded joint-family home where hierarchy is mistaken for protection, quiet Sila (Yumna Zaidi) lives under the shadow of Jawad, known as Joyee (Noman Ijaz). He is treated as a trusted member of the household, yet his familiarity gives him cover to harass and intimidate her. Sila's mother, Sadia (Saman Ansari), understands more than she can admit, but years of dependence, shame and fear have taught both women to survive through silence. Around them, Aapa (Sakina Samo) defends the order of the house, while Raheel (Osama Tahir), Zaynee (Aamna Malick) and others begin to question what everyone has chosen not to see. Written by Bee Gul and directed by Kashif Nisar, Dar Si Jati Hai Sila is a tense, compassionate drama about abuse hiding in plain sight and the family structures that protect it. Its power lies in watching a frightened young woman search for language, allies and the courage to believe that what is happening is not her fault.

Editor’s Take

Yumna Zaidi makes Sila's silence feel louder than dialogue, while Noman Ijaz turns Joyee's everyday familiarity into something chilling. Bee Gul's writing and Kashif Nisar's close, claustrophobic direction understand how abuse hides inside a household that would rather look away. Our one gripe? The early stretch is so relentlessly heavy that it can feel punishing. Still, this is issue-based television with a pulse, not a lecture, and we could not shake it.
