About Dastakhat

Tara (Amar Khan) has grown up as an orphan in her uncle's home, answering every kindness with devoted care for a family she treats as her own. Her future seems settled too: she is promised to her cousin Salman (Affan Waheed), the dutiful son everyone expects her to marry. Salman, however, is in love with the wealthy and volatile Aiman (Meher Bano), and his fear of disappointing his parents turns honesty into delay. As the wedding approaches, the cost of that silence falls hardest on Tara, while Salman's younger brother Hamza (Ali Ammar), her closest friend in the household, watches the family strain under obligations it refuses to question. Written by Edison Idress Masih and directed by Abdullah Badini, Dastakhat turns a familiar love triangle into a bruising story about promises made on someone else's behalf. Come for Amar Khan's compassionate centre, stay for the tense collision between duty, desire, and a young woman's dignity.

We keep watching Dastakhat for Amar Khan, whose warmth and quiet dignity give Tara's emotional bruises a stubborn human pulse. Nadia Afghan adds welcome texture around her, even when the material settles for familiar beats. Our gripe is the script's predictability: the love triangle announces every turn early, then leans on cliched dialogue instead of surprise. The cast deserved much sharper material, but Khan makes this well-worn signature worth reading once.
