About Dhaani

Against the color and kite strings of Lahore's old quarters, Dhaani (Madiha Imam) is a spirited young woman raised in a strict but close-knit household. Her protective cousin Raja (Mubarak Ali) quietly loves her, while her father Kaleem (Tauqeer Nasir) keeps a firm hold on the family. Their world collides with that of Sameer (Sami Khan), the carefree son of a wealthy businessman who has returned from abroad. A Basant gathering and a reckless bet draw Dhaani and Sameer into a secret friendship. Dhaani begins to read his attention as love, only to discover that he does not share her certainty. With family expectations, class pride, political ambition and rival engagements closing in, private hurt quickly becomes a neighborhood conflict. Written by Hashim Nadeem, Dhaani pairs old Lahore's crowded rooftops and comic family energy with a romance built on misunderstandings, bruised expectations and the difficult question of whether affection can survive the damage caused before it is fully understood.
