About Goonj

At a creative agency built on ideas but poisoned by everyday sexism, talented Zarnab Mehmood (Komal Meer) discovers that success can make her a target. Her colleague Nabeel (Mirza Gohar Rasheed) keeps chipping at her confidence, questioning her competence and turning office gossip into a weapon. New animator Ahmed (Feroz Kadri) recognizes the hostility and wants to stand beside her, but even well-meant support threatens to create fresh rumours around a woman determined to speak for herself.

Beyond the office, Goonj follows the close-knit home Zarnab shares with her lawyer sister Nazish (Michelle Mumtaz), their younger sister, and the devoted single father (Khalid Anum) who raised them to choose their own paths. Written by Qurb e Abbas and directed by Wajahat Rauf, the serial turns one woman's fight to be judged by her work into a wider story about ambition, harassment, family trust, and the courage it takes to make an unheard voice carry.

Editor’s Take

Goonj is sharpest when Gohar Rasheed's needling workplace menace collides with Komal Meer's tightly held anger. The quieter pleasure is Khalid Anum's warm, hands-on father, which gives the drama a home worth defending. Our one gripe? Nabeel is sometimes drawn in such thick black ink that the office politics lose a little of their chilling subtlety. Still, this is socially conscious television with a pulse: clear-eyed, accessible, and brave enough to let a working woman own her voice.
