About Hasrat (2024)

Sanaya (Kiran Haq) is a capable working woman trying to keep a demanding career, two children, and an increasingly fragile marriage in balance. Her husband Arham (Fahad Sheikh) is moody, easily influenced, and too willing to take her devotion for granted, while his bedridden mother keeps feeding resentment inside the home. The pressure shifts when Fabeeha (Janice Tessa), a clever young nurse with an eye on financial security, begins caring for the family matriarch and wins Arham's attention. Fabeeha's choices also leave Hamza (Subhan Awan), the struggling man who hopes to build a future with her, chasing a bond she no longer values. Written by Rakshanda Rizvi, Hasrat turns domestic jealousy into a tense study of ambition, emotional neglect, and the damage caused when bitterness is allowed to steer a household. Its familiar setup gains momentum from a tightly entangled quartet, with every private grievance threatening to spill across two relationships and an entire family.

Kiran Haq gives Hasrat its steady pulse, making Sanaya's exhaustion feel lived-in, while the restrained direction keeps the household warfare from tipping into pure melodrama. We also enjoyed how Janice Tessa gives Fabeeha a cool, unsettling certainty. Our gripe is the familiar second-wife setup and a 63-episode run that stretches its tensions past their sharpest point. Still, the performances keep this well-worn story watchable, and sometimes deliciously infuriating.
