In a world where patriarchy is inherited like family property, Zahid (Shehzad Sheikh) has grown into a bitter tailor who distrusts women after his mother leaves the family and his father turns that wound into doctrine. Mahjabeen (Hira Mani), a wealthy young widow, faces a different cruelty: relatives exploit her generosity and society treats her independence as a problem that needs a male solution. Between them is Aliya (Aymen Saleem), the spirited daughter of Mahjabeen's confidante, whose warmth begins to unsettle Zahid's rigid beliefs. When their paths cross, Ibn-e-Hawwa turns romance and domestic conflict into a pointed study of how misogyny is taught, repeated, and sometimes challenged. Written by Saji Gul, the drama balances Mahjabeen's quiet resilience, Aliya's bright defiance, and Zahid's damaged worldview as each is pushed toward choices that could reshape their lives. Ibn-e-Hawwa is at its sharpest when Aymen Saleem's buoyant Aliya collides with Shehzad Sheikh's tightly wound Zahid. Their contrast gives Saji Gul's study of inherited misogyny some welcome air, while Hira Mani makes Mahjabeen's vulnerability feel painfully human. Our one gripe? The drama sometimes underlines its thesis so firmly that the characters start sounding like arguments. Even then, its anger has purpose, and that conviction keeps it compelling.
