About Inkaar

Hajra (Yumna Zaidi) is a bright university student whose trust is shattered by the entitled Rehan Chaudhry (Imran Ashraf). She retreats from her studies and takes a modest teaching job, carrying a trauma her loving father Hafiz Saheb (Rehan Sheikh) can sense but not yet name. When the quiet, persistent Shayan Malik (Sami Khan) brings a marriage proposal, Hajra must decide whether she can let hope back into a life shaped by fear.

Written by Zafar Mairaj and directed by Kashif Nisar, Inkaar turns that intimate struggle into a gripping story about consent, class power, family honour, and a woman's right to refuse. Its cold visual palette and shifting flashbacks give the drama the tension of a psychological thriller, while Hajra's bond with her father supplies its emotional heart. This is a serious, compassionate serial that asks what courage looks like when privilege expects silence.

Editor’s Take

Yumna Zaidi's quiet steel and Rehan Sheikh's tender, protective warmth give Inkaar its heartbeat, while Imran Ashraf makes entitlement feel chillingly ordinary. We love how Kashif Nisar's cold frames and fractured flashbacks sharpen Zafar Mairaj's writing on consent without flattening the characters into slogans. Our one gripe? The deliberate pace occasionally drains urgency from scenes that should snap. Still, this is socially conscious television with real dramatic bite, and its refusal to romanticise coercion lands hard.
