Sundus (Sonia Mishal) has grown up with a carefully polished lie. Raised by her mother, Tehreem (Faiza Hasan), after a painful separation from her father, Ehtisham (Faisal Rehman), she tells her university sweetheart Haider (Shehzad Sheikh) that she belongs to a warm, picture-perfect household. The fiction becomes impossible to maintain when Haider's widowed mother wants to meet the family before the young couple can marry. Desperate to protect both her romance and the identity she has built around it, Sundus persuades her estranged parents to share a home again for a few months. Their uneasy arrangement reopens old wounds and unsettles Ehtisham's second wife, Naila (Sabreen Hisbani), and his son. Written by Maha Malik, Izn-e-Rukhsat turns a wedding proposal into an intimate family pressure cooker, asking whether borrowed domestic harmony can heal the damage of years apart, or merely make every buried grievance harder to ignore.
