About Jahan Aur Bhi Hain

Pakistan's first space themed telefilm sends its heroine home with a warning nobody wants to hear. Dr. Zainab (Amna Ilyas) is a climate science professor who returns to her ancestral village after years away in research, and what she reads in the satellite data frightens her: a catastrophic cloudburst is building, and the valley sits directly in its path. The village that raised her is in no mood to believe a daughter who came back talking about remote sensing. So she works with what she trusts, satellite imagery and early warning systems and the few days she has left, and tries to turn a forecast into an evacuation. Written and directed by Sarmad Cheema and produced with Pakistan's National Center of GIS and Space Applications and the Institute of Space Technology, it is a compact piece of public science storytelling, and a rare Pakistani drama where the rescue equipment is in orbit.
