About Janjal Pura
Janjal Pura turns a bustling fictional town into a comic arena where every resident believes they know how to improve the place, and each is determined to outshine the rest. Cheemi Guru (Nayyar Ejaz), Reema (Mehmood Aslam), Dr Mahjabeen (Savera Nadeem), Master Hidayat Ullah (Khalid Butt), the local politician (Madeeha Gauhar), Sheikh Ji (Asim Bukhari), Chambeli (Naseem Vicky), and Kareem Bakhsh (Ashraf Khan) form a wonderfully combustible neighborhood. Their clashing temperaments and private ambitions keep even civic-minded plans from running smoothly, turning everyday town life into a lively contest of egos, schemes, and comic misunderstandings. Writer Shahid Nadeem builds the humor around a community that bickers as fiercely as it belongs together. Beneath the rivalry sits an affectionate idea: these colorful people may struggle to agree on anything, yet their connection to Janjal Pura is stronger than their quarrels. It is an inviting ensemble comedy for viewers who enjoy character-driven chaos with a distinctly local pulse.
Editor’s Take
Janjal Pura's secret weapon is its ensemble spark, but Savera Nadeem's Mahjabeen gives the bustle a particularly memorable center. A Reviewit retrospective singled out the character's strong arc and lasting recall, a fine measure of how much this early performance still contributes to Nadeem's career story. Our one gripe? The crowded premise asks newcomers to learn a small army of eccentrics at once. Stay with the commotion, though. This town's comic personality is the payoff.
