About Jodi Ban Gayi
Home for the holidays, easygoing Rohan (Feroze Khan) grows close to his lonely grandfather and hits on a sweet idea: find the old man a companion. His matchmaking lands on Zubi, a graceful single woman in the neighborhood, which conveniently also brings him into the orbit of her niece Mahrukh (Sehar Khan), the girl who has quietly caught his eye. Rohan's plan gets complicated fast when Mahrukh's mother lines up a marriage proposal from another man, and to fend it off, the two strike a deal to pose as a couple. Cue all the wobbles, blushes, and near-misses of two people pretending to be in love who may not be pretending for long. An Eid special telefilm written by Samrah Bukhari and directed by Syed Ramish Rizvi for Har Pal Geo, Jodi Ban Gayi is a light, festive romantic comedy about scheming, family, and love that sneaks up on you.

As Eid telefilms go, this is a perfectly pleasant couple of hours: Feroze Khan turns on the boyish charm, Sehar Khan is sparkly opposite him, and the sweetest idea in it is a grandson hunting down a companion for his lonely grandfather. Our gripe? It is featherweight and faintly ridiculous, a fake-dating, scheme-your-way-into-her-house confection you will forget by the next morning. The fizz is real, but there is no aftertaste. Charming, disposable, gone by the next chand raat.
