Lucky Kabootar takes a wonderfully old-fashioned idea, a love letter carried by a pigeon, and spins it into a breezy Eid comedy of errors. Laiqa (Ushna Shah) is a spirited young woman devoted to her pigeons, living under the watchful eye of her aunt Shaista. Next door, Shahrukh (Mikaal Zulfiqar) is a struggling poet who finally works up the courage to confess his feelings, entrusting his heartfelt note to Lucky, Laiqa's favourite bird. Naturally, Lucky has other plans, dropping the letter at the wrong doorstep and setting off a chain of gloriously tangled misunderstandings. What follows is a warm, colourful farce of mistaken intentions, neighbourhood gossip, and a poet whose words keep landing in the wrong hands. With Sana Fakhar, Ayaz Samoo, Zainab Shabbir, and Sohail Sameer filling out the ensemble, it is exactly the kind of light, festive one-off HUM TV serves up for the holidays.
