About Maa
Maa follows Raha (Aina Asif), a bright, resilient young woman raised in her grandfather's bustling home alongside her sheltered cousin Batool (Areej Mohyudin). Though an aunt's jealousy keeps testing her place in the family, Raha refuses to become a passive victim. Arman (Ahmed Rafique), another fatherless child the household has taken in, grows up beside her, quietly carrying both romantic feelings and the pressure of finding his footing. Beneath their familiar routines lies a painful history: Raha's mother Tara (Sunita Marshall) once defied her wealthy family to marry Kabeer (Alyy Khan), only to be trapped in an abusive, grasping household. Tara left her baby behind believing distance would keep her safe, and the secret she still guards shadows everyone. Written by Yamna Ahmed, this emotional family serial pairs tangled loyalties and buried truths with a heroine lively enough to push back when fate tries to script her as helpless.

Aina Asif gives Maa its pulse, playing Raha with a bright, quick-witted defiance that keeps the heroine from slipping into Cinderella-mode helplessness. We love how the family drama lets her answer cruelty instead of simply absorbing it, while Ahmed Rafique brings a softer counterweight as Arman. Our one gripe? The stacked secrets and relentless angst can crowd the characters' quieter moments. Still, this is emotionally charged television with a heroine worth rooting for.
