About Maat

Maat turns sibling rivalry into a sharp family drama about what people are willing to trade for status. Aiman (Aamina Sheikh) is patient, responsible and devoted to her family, while her younger sister Saman (Saba Qamar) is outspoken, restless and determined to marry into wealth. Their cousin Faisal (Adnan Siddiqui) loves Saman, but she rejects him when his prospects look modest. His family then turns to Aiman, whose acceptance sets up an uneasy triangle. When Faisal's fortunes begin to rise, Saman's ambition pulls her back toward a choice she once dismissed, testing the sisters' bond and everyone caught between them. Written by Umera Ahmad from her novel, the 25-episode serial gives its conflict real bite by placing affection, money and family duty on the same scale. Aamina Sheikh's restraint and Saba Qamar's volatility make Aiman and Saman feel like opposing forces, and the tension keeps tightening without giving away where either sister's choices will lead.
