About Makafat

Makafat turns everyday wrongdoing into a rotating gallery of moral pressure cookers. Across 38 self-contained stories, an ensemble featuring Abid Ali, Syed Jibran, Saba Faisal, Saba Hameed, Laila Wasti and Kamran Jillani enters households where greed, pride, betrayal and careless cruelty upset the balance of ordinary life. Victims struggle to protect their dignity, while those who exploit them discover that consequences rarely need an invitation. The anthology format gives writers Sameena Aijaz, Huma Hina Nafees, Ghazala Naqvi and Mehrunnisa M. Khan a fresh conflict with every episode, moving through debts, addiction, status, remorse and the cost of ignoring another person’s pain. Saleem Ghanchi’s series is less interested in one hero than in the choices that reveal people at their best and worst. That makes Makafat easy to sample but hard to shrug off: each cautionary tale asks where justice begins when society looks away, and whether self-correction can arrive before silent justice does.
