About Marzi

Manaal (Rabab Hashim) lives with her mother and brother under the shadow of Irfan (Babar Ali), the wealthy brother-in-law whose financial support gives him control over both families. Restless inside that arrangement, she falls for Zain (Junaid Khan), Irfan's reserved cousin and employee, after hearing him on the FM station Irfan runs. Zain refuses to encourage her. His sister Maryam is married into Irfan's family, his livelihood depends on Irfan's land, and any romance could put everyone around him at risk. Manaal, however, treats his caution as a challenge and her own desire as a claim to freedom. As Irfan's disapproval tightens around them, her one-sided pursuit becomes a test of who gets to make choices in a household where money carries authority. Written by Ali Moeen and directed by Syed Wajahat Hussain, Marzi turns a tangled attraction into a volatile family struggle, led by Manaal's fierce will and Zain's uneasy restraint.

Editor’s Take

Rabab Hashim gives Manaal the combustible certainty this story needs, while Junaid Khan makes Zain's bewildered restraint quietly funny and unexpectedly sympathetic. Their push and pull keeps the romance watchable even when it turns feverish. Our one gripe? Irfan's control is often asserted more loudly than it is dramatized, so the central obstacle can feel manufactured. Still, Marzi has a stubborn pulse: messy, melodramatic, and powered by a heroine who refuses to ask permission.
