Shazia (Sukaynah Khan) wants a love that is not hers to claim. Consumed by her feelings for Arsim (Saad Qureshi), her newly married brother-in-law, she refuses to accept the limits set by family, faith or consequence. What begins as unrequited desire darkens into a search for occult help, drawing her toward the manipulative black magician Shamsuddin (Syed Qamar Raza Rizvi) and into a tense struggle with those who recognize the danger. Inside a household already knotted by marriage and loyalty, suspicion grows as Sonia (Parizae Fatima) starts following the trail Shazia tries to conceal. Zubab Rana, Agha Mustafa and Shaheen Khan round out an ensemble caught between private longing and public belief. Editor’s Take

Sukaynah Khan is the spark in this supernatural family feud, giving Shazia a cool, brazen nerve that makes every confrontation crackle. We especially like how Furqan Adam turns her fixation on Arsim into a battle of desire, deceit and belief, instead of using black magic as empty decoration. Our one gripe? The good-versus-evil framing paints its moral lines a little too boldly. Still, when Shazia locks onto her target, the serial has a wicked pull.
