About Mehroom

Umair (Junaid Khan) is the son of a wealthy, influential family, raised on his father Zahid's (Kashif Mahmood) rigid, controlling worldview, one that treats a wife as property and plants deep suspicion of women in his mind. At university he meets Zaira (Hina Altaf), a bright, progressive young woman who believes in equality and her own voice. Their mutual love feels like an escape, until marriage drags Umair's inherited insecurities into their home. What begins as romance curdles into jealousy, possessiveness and control, straining Zaira against the very family that once seemed to welcome her. Around them, Saad (Hashaam Khan) and a web of relatives pull the couple in competing directions, forcing Zaira to weigh love against her own self-respect. This Har Pal Geo family drama, written by Radain Shah, uses one troubled marriage to examine how patriarchy passes quietly from one generation to the next.

Hina Altaf carries this one, giving Zaira a quiet, wounded dignity that makes the marriage's slow suffocation genuinely hard to watch, and Hashaam Khan's Saad becomes the character everyone quietly roots for. Our gripe lands squarely on the finale: after 56 episodes of building sympathy for the wrong-couple ache, having Zaira accept Umair left much of the audience feeling shortchanged and lectured. Compelling performances, a frustrating last mile. Watch it for Zaira, brace for the ending.
