About Munafiq

Ujala (Fatima Effendi) belongs to a modest family whose security collapses after her father dies in an accident at a factory owned by a politically powerful household. When public anger threatens that family's reputation, the formidable Sabiha Begum (Marina Khan) proposes an unlikely solution: her privileged son Armaan (Adeel Chaudhry) should marry Ujala. What looks like restitution soon exposes a brutal divide of class, loyalty, and power. Armaan enters the marriage without accepting Ujala as an equal, while his attachment to Sobia (Mariyam Nafees) tightens the emotional trap around her. Written by Hina Huma Nafees, Munafiq turns one calculated alliance into a tense study of hypocrisy inside an influential home. Fatima Effendi gives the story its bruised but resilient center, supported by Bilal Qureshi as Hamza, while Marina Khan and Adeel Chaudhry make privilege feel coldly personal. It is an absorbing family drama about dignity under pressure and the cost of treating people as political currency.

Editor’s Take

Fatima Effendi gives Ujala a quiet ache that keeps the drama human, but Marina Khan's silk-gloved manipulation and Adeel Chaudhry's intimidating entitlement provide its sharpest edge. We love how quickly the class conflict turns a marriage of convenience into an emotional pressure cooker. Our one gripe? The daily-soap stretch revisits the same wounds too often, blunting some of their force. Even so, Munafiq understands that hypocrisy is most gripping when it smiles politely across the dinner table.
