About Nazo

Nazo follows two sisters bound by a fierce devotion. Nazo (Sonya Hussain), a young woman with an intellectual disability who struggles to communicate but responds deeply to affection, depends on her sister Samra (Zhalay Sarhadi) for safety and companionship. Their mother, Tabassum (Atiqa Odho), has endured a household and society that blamed her for her daughter's condition, and that pressure has hardened the bond between mother and daughters. When the patient Habeel (Ahmed Ali) enters Samra's life, romance cannot be separated from responsibility: loving Samra means making room for Nazo too. Written by Samina Ejaz and directed by Aabis Raza, the 22-episode Urdu 1 serial treats caregiving as an intimate family reality, not a shortcut to melodrama. Its world holds tenderness, resentment, exhaustion and sacrifice in the same frame, asking whether a family can protect a vulnerable person without denying her dignity, agency or the chance to be happy.

Sonya Hussain's tightly observed physical performance never turns Nazo into a gimmick, while Zhalay Sarhadi and Ahmed Ali give the caregiving scenes a warm, lived-in pulse. We especially admire how Aabis Raza lets affection, anger and exhaustion share the same room. Our one gripe? Some crises and caregiving beats repeat more than they deepen. Still, its empathy is the real hook: a sensitive family drama that earns emotion instead of squeezing it out.
