About Pagli

Pagli begins with a collision as lively Gulrukh (Hira Mani), a quick-witted young woman living with sudden bouts of memory loss, crosses paths with psychiatrist Dr Khalid (Noor Hassan) on a train. Khalid is returning home to establish his clinic and step into an expected future with Zubi (Hina Altaf), but Gulrukh's arrival at his household upends every careful plan. She is confident, mischievous and determined to arrange other people's lives even as her own past slips beyond her grasp. Her presence pulls Khalid toward an uneasy mix of professional concern and romance, while Zubi and Gulrukh's old-fashioned fiancé Najam (Asim Azhar) are drawn into a knot of affections no one can neatly control. Adapted from Shaukat Thanvi's novel and written by Khurram Abbas, Pagli folds a sensitive mental-health premise into household comedy, romantic confusion and spirited banter. The result is a lively ensemble story about memory, belonging and the trouble caused by trying to decide what is best for everyone else.
