About Paiwand

Paiwand follows Saniya (Sana Javed), a young woman determined to become self-reliant after her widowed mother remarries and leaves her to be raised by an uncle. Work becomes Saniya's route out of dependence, but a family crisis pulls her into a bargain she never chose. When her stepsister Maya abandons her wedding, Saniya is pressed into marrying Hassam (Ahmed Ali Akbar) in her place, becoming the "paiwand", or patch, meant to hold another family's honour together.

Writer Shagufta Bhatti turns that sharp premise into a domestic drama about duty, dignity and the cost of treating an accommodating woman as an easy solution. With Gohar Rasheed, Sadia Faisal and Sajid Hasan surrounding the central pair, the story asks whether a marriage born from substitution can ever make room for Saniya's own ambitions. It is a Cinderella-shaped setup with a bruising twist, led by a heroine who wants more than pity and refuses to remain merely useful.
