About Parchaiyan
Haseena Moin's Parchaiyan, adapted from Henry James's The Portrait of a Lady, places a fiercely self-directed young woman inside a romantic maze where charm, loyalty, and money rarely point the same way. After losing her parents, Najia (Sahira Kazmi) moves in with relatives and meets her cousin Adeel (Rahat Kazmi) and his friend Masood (Shakeel). Masood declares himself plainly, while Adeel keeps his affection buried beneath friendship. Najia, determined to choose life on her own terms, is instead drawn toward the polished Shiraz (Talat Hussain), whose sophistication conceals a sharper interest in her wealth. What begins as a courtship drama grows into a study of judgment, independence, and the emotional cost of recognizing sincerity too late. As PTV's first colour drama, the serial also carries the texture of a landmark, but its real pull is intimate: one woman weighing three very different men without surrendering her intelligence to the plot.
