About Qurban

Heer (Iqra Aziz) is a bright, adored daughter of a well-off family who grew up worshipping her self-made father and quietly deciding she would only ever love a man cut from the same cloth: principled, hardworking, unafraid of struggle. She finds exactly that in Jamal (Bilal Abbas Khan), a brilliant fellow student whose talent and decency shine all the brighter against the poverty he is fighting to escape. Their love is real, but the gulf between their worlds, and the expectations of the families around them, refuses to let it be simple, pulling Shahmir (Shehzad Sheikh) into the picture and turning a tender romance into a painful test of loyalty and sacrifice. Written by Zafar Mairaj and directed by Ahmed Bhatti for ARY Digital, Qurban, meaning sacrifice, is an emotional triangle about class, conscience, and how much a person can be asked to give up in the name of love.

What begins as a sharp story about class and conscience knots itself into double-nikah, gunfire, contrivance-piled-on-contrivance melodrama until the early spark is buried.
