About Qurban (Movie)
Heer (Iqra Aziz) has grown up wealthy, adored by her parents and convinced that her father sets the standard for a good man. At university, she meets Jamal (Bilal Abbas Khan), a brilliant student whose modest means are matched by the qualities she admires most. Their friendship deepens into love, but Heer's family has long promised her to Shahmeer (Shehzad Sheikh), the son of her father's closest friend. Refusing that arrangement, Heer secretly marries Jamal. When he vanishes without warning, her claim is dismissed and family pressure closes in, leaving her caught between a first marriage no one accepts and a future being decided for her. Written by Zafar Miraaj and directed by Ahmed Bhatti, Qurban turns a class-crossed romance into a tense moral knot about trust, consent, and the cost of keeping a life-changing truth hidden. Iqra Aziz, Bilal Abbas Khan, and Shehzad Sheikh anchor the triangle with three very different kinds of longing, making this full-movie presentation an absorbing route into the story.
Editor’s Take
Iqra Aziz gives Qurban its pulse, carrying Heer's impossible bind with the expressive intensity that contemporary reception singled out, while Bilal Abbas Khan and Shehzad Sheikh make the triangle feel emotionally loaded rather than merely schematic. Our one gripe? The story leans heavily on secrecy and disbelief to tighten its knot, so the conflict can feel engineered. Still, Zafar Miraaj's provocative premise has real bite. Come for the starry trio, stay for the moral pressure cooker.
