About Rani

In Meharabaad, spirited Rani (Kinza Hashmi) belongs to a family that serves a powerful shrine, but she refuses to let its rigid customs decide her future. Her heart belongs to Bilal (Rajab Butt), an educated childhood friend who questions the old order surrounding their families. Their romance is caught inside a bitter inheritance dispute between the shrine's half-brothers, Murad Shah (Babar Ali) and Nadir Shah (Saleem Sheikh), where land, status and spiritual authority carry more weight than personal choice. When a village council is drawn into the families' conflict and Nadir turns his attention toward Rani, her fight for love becomes entangled with the mansion's rivalries and the expectations placed upon every woman in its orbit. Written by Anwaar Gillani, Rani has the sweep of classic rural melodrama: childhood devotion, feudal power and a heroine brave enough to challenge both. It is an inviting watch for viewers who enjoy romance sharpened by family politics and an old order beginning to crack.
