About Shadi Mubarak Ho

Nayel (Yasir Hussain) is in no hurry to grow up, which is exactly why his parents have made his marriage their life's mission. His mother Shehnaz (Bushra Ansari) inspects every prospective bride and finds something wrong with all of them, his father Maqsood (Salman Shahid) keeps the peace, and Ikhtyar (Asad Siddique), the servant who treats every family matter as his own, makes sure nothing stays private for long. Then a favour for his best friend Ahsan sends Nayel to the airport to collect Zoya (Kubra Khan), and the search he has been dodging quietly catches up with him. Wajahat Rauf directs this ARY Digital comedy with a light hand, trusting a warm, bickering, thoroughly recognisable household to carry the laughs. It is a family sitcom in drama-serial clothing, powered by proposals, protests, and a mother who is never, ever satisfied.

Editor’s Take

Yasir Hussain is the engine here, and when he slips into his Pathan bit the show is genuinely, helplessly funny. Wajahat Rauf keeps it moving fast and looking expensive, and the Kubra Khan pairing has real spark. Our gripe? The script leans hard on tired married-life gags, and Bushra Ansari, of all people, is handed far too little to do. Great company, lazy jokes.
