Siyaah Series turns Pakistani television into a cabinet of nightmares, with each story opening a new door onto supernatural horror, psychological thrillers, urban legends, mythology, suspense, and dark comedy. Its rotating ensemble places familiar performers inside sharply different worlds: Asad Siddiqui leads "Roohdaad," where a group of fake spiritualists encounters something far more dangerous than its own deception, while Ali Ansari anchors "Khoat," a tense exploration of fractured identity. Siyaah works best when it lets mood do the haunting. "Roohdaad" gives Asad Siddiqui a deliciously ominous setup, while Ali Ansari's shifting performance in "Khoat" turns psychological fracture into the scare itself. We love the anthology's willingness to move between folklore, suspense, and horror comedy, helped by shadowy visuals and alert sound design. Our one gripe? The rotating format can make tonal jumps feel abrupt. Still, Pakistani television rarely gets this playfully macabre, and we would gladly open another door.
