Set inside two estranged landowning families in rural Punjab, Ullu Baraye Farokht Nahi turns an attempted reconciliation into a pressure cooker of greed, exchange marriage and inherited revenge. Mian Ghulam Fareed (Nauman Ijaz) guards the family estate and its patriarchal rules with chilling entitlement, while his wife Gul-e-Rana (Saba Qamar) learns how power really moves through the haveli. His city-educated sister Aasia (Yumna Zaidi) longs for a life with her married teacher, Sir Chauhan (Omair Rana), but her choices collide with a household determined to control women's love, marriage and inheritance. Around them, Ishaq Malkana (Sohail Ahmed), Kaneez Fatima (Irsa Ghazal) and others carry old grievances that turn kinship into a dangerous bargain. Written by Amna Mufti, this is no decorative feudal saga. It is a stark, gripping study of what happens when property matters more than people and every family bond becomes another weapon.

Amna Mufti gives this feudal tragedy a blade-sharp moral centre, while Nauman Ijaz, Saba Qamar, Yumna Zaidi and Omair Rana make every silence in the haveli feel dangerous. Kashif Nisar keeps the family politics startlingly clear, even as the cruelty piles up. Our one gripe? The later stretch lingers longer than its tension can support, a flaw Dawn also noted. Still, few dramas turn inheritance, patriarchy and revenge into something this bruising and addictive. We could not look away.
