About Uncle Urfi
Uncle Urfi begins when Irfanuddin Ahmed, known to everyone as Urfi (Shakeel), returns to Pakistan after living in Canada and slips into the tangled routines of an extended family. Warm, generous and quietly determined to improve the lives around him, he soon becomes especially drawn to Beena (Shahla Ahmad), a young woman whose loneliness he recognizes but whose affection he cannot easily voice. Their understated bond unfolds amid family expectations, misunderstandings and competing ideas of duty, with Azra Sherwani, Qurban Jilani and Jamshed Ansari anchoring a household full of sharp personalities. Written by Haseena Moin and staged in the intimate black-and-white language of early PTV, the serial treats romance as part of a larger portrait of kinship, sacrifice and all the feelings families leave unsaid. Its charm lies in watching a confident expatriate discover that generosity is simpler than emotional honesty, while Beena learns to read the care hidden beneath Urfi's easygoing manner.
