About Wehshi

Adapted from Razia Butt's novel, Wehshi follows Asif (Khushhal Khan), a once-secure child whose world fractures after his father's death and his mother's remarriage. In a home where affection turns conditional and a hostile stepfather treats him as a burden, grief hardens into anger, isolation and self-destructive impulses. Running alongside his story is Sobia (Komal Meer), who survives cruelty of her own and grows into a far more self-possessed young woman. When their lives cross again, old wounds, family expectations and tangled loyalties pull them toward choices neither fully understands. Shumaila Zaidi's adaptation treats its title less as a verdict than a question: is Asif truly wild, or has he simply become what neglect taught him to be? With Muhammad Subhan Awan, Nadia Khan and Babar Ali tightening the family pressure around the leads, the serial builds a bruising domestic drama about trauma, love and the dangerous hope that one person can repair another. Its darkest tension comes from watching tenderness compete with patterns set long before adulthood.

Editor’s Take

Khushhal Khan gives Asif a wounded volatility that keeps us watching even when the character is hardest to defend, while Komal Meer gives Sobia a welcome streak of steel. Our gripe? The script raises sharp questions about childhood trauma, then too often treats romantic devotion as a substitute for meaningful psychological care. That weakens its boldest idea. Still, the performances give this difficult family drama enough heat to make its discomfort linger.
