2AM (Trosk Lofi Remix)

The Story Behind 2AM (Trosk Lofi Remix)

Released on Coke Studio Pakistan's channel in May 2024, 2AM (Trosk Lofi Remix) revisits Star Shah and Zeeshan Ali's Season 15 song about mistrust and the search for sincere love. Trosk is credited with producing this version's audio. The original composition belongs to Shah, Ali and Xulfi, and the remix retains Shah and Ali's vocal pairing.

The original recording arrived in April; this official visualizer followed about a month later. At five minutes and 46 seconds, it runs longer than the original's roughly five minutes. Shah's restless verses and Ali's calmer response still form the song's central exchange, now framed as a late-night remix. The new production credit and later release make this a distinct entry in the Season 15 catalogue, with its own listening context rather than a second telling of the original track's creation.

Meaning & Translation

The "2AM" in the title points to the hour when private doubts feel sharpest. In the Punjabi vocal exchange, Star Shah dwells on deceit, self-interest and the loss of sincere love. Zeeshan Ali's answer asks what love can still mean in such a world, then leaves room for loyalty and compassion. The lofi remix changes the setting of that conversation, not the theme of its words: the ache and the reply remain at the heart of the song. Its English meaning moves from suspicion toward the possibility of trust, rather than offering a simple account of a breakup.
