The Story Behind Ant Ul Hayat OST
HUM TV published Ant Ul Hayat OST in August 2022 as the title song for Antul Hayat, a family drama about three sisters whose faith in marriage collides with sacrifice, pressure, and disappointment. Sibte Hassan is the recording's credited creative lead, serving as singer, composer, and lyricist, so its voice and writing share one clear emotional perspective. The serial was written by Athar Ansari and directed by Haseeb Ali and Adeel Siddiqui, with Minsa Malik, Beenish Chohan, and Rabia Naureen among its ensemble. Rather than treating romance as fulfilment, the song follows the drama into separation and uncertainty. Its recurring appeal for the beloved's return gives the refrain a circular, prayer-like pull, turning private heartbreak into the musical frame for the sisters' troubled relationships.
Meaning & Translation
The title Ant ul Hayat is used to mean "you are life" or "the essence of life," describing someone whose presence seems inseparable from one's own existence. The song turns that ideal into a lament. The beloved has gone, leaving the speaker restless, without direction, and unable to find relief from heartache. A repeated prayer asks for reunion and for a path that can ease the grief. Images of broken promises, severed bonds, wandering, and a home of the heart with no destination deepen the feeling of emotional exile. In the drama's context, that contrast is crucial: a spouse may be imagined as life itself, yet devotion can become suffering when love is not returned.
