The Story Behind Be Adab OST
Be Adab is the title theme for HUM TV's 2020 family drama, published by the channel on 19 November, the day before its announced premiere. Sahir Ali Bagga sings and composes the short OST, with lyrics by Imran Raza. The broadcaster identifies Momina Duraid Productions as the serial's production company and credits Inam Hasan as writer and Shehzad Kashmiri as director. The drama follows parents facing neglect in old age, a family conflict that gives the song its direct address to an ungrateful child. In the recording's compact two minutes, the verses describe a mother's prayers and a father's shelter before the refrain returns to the fear of losing them. The shift from Urdu to Punjabi lets the closing warning land in the language of a familiar family appeal.
Meaning & Translation
Be Adab means "disrespectful" or "ill-mannered" in Urdu, and here the title points to a child's failure to honor the people who raised them. Imran Raza's words contrast a mother's prayers and a father's protection with the hurt caused by neglect. The song speaks directly to a child who may gain the whole world yet cannot replace a mother or father once they are gone. Its Urdu verses describe the parents' sacrifices, while the Punjabi refrain turns that thought into a direct warning. The feeling is remorseful rather than accusatory: even a wounded parent continues to wish a child well.
