The Story Behind Chhaleya
“Chhaleya” is Ali Zafar’s vocal theme for HUM TV’s 2026 drama Winter Love, which pairs Mawra Hocane’s Mushk with Khushhal Khan’s Hayat. HUM credits Naveed Nashad with the music and Qamar Nashad with the words; release metadata also names Umair Hassan and Wasif Nashad for programming. The soundtrack single appeared on 8 April 2026, before HUM TV posted the video used here on 27 April. In the drama, a stormy encounter starts an uneasy attraction between a carefree event planner and a woman fighting to keep her parents’ home. The title’s suggestion of deception gives that romance a teasing edge, while HUM describes the song as one of romance and longing. Ali Zafar’s solo billing keeps the focus on one voice, even as the video features the two leads.
Meaning & Translation
Chhaleya is a form of address for a deceiver or trickster. In the setting of Winter Love, that word makes the beloved both magnetic and difficult to read. HUM describes the song as carrying romance and longing, and the drama places Hayat and Mushk on opposite sides of an attraction neither can settle easily. The English sense is therefore an affectionate accusation rather than a simple claim that someone has lied. One person feels drawn close yet fears being led astray by charm. That mix of desire and doubt explains why the title fits a love story built on differences and repeated crossings of the two leads’ paths.
