“Ghoom Taana” returned in Coke Studio Season 10 as Salman Ahmad’s cinematic reworking of a song first released by Junoon in 2004. Momina Mustehsan leads the 2017 performance with Irteassh, a young vocal group Ahmad had discovered through a singing competition, while Strings produced and directed the session. Ahmad composed and music-directed the arrangement, sharing lyric credit with Sabir Zafar. Its sound expands his rock foundation through a massed female chorus and guest colors from Sajid Ali’s flute, Ustaad Aashiq Ali Mir’s tabla, and Sherjan Ahmad’s guitar. Mustehsan’s clear solo phrases gather force when the chorus answers, making the final passages feel less like a solo feature than a shared declaration.
