The performance also folds in a Punjabi passage from Kinna Sohna Tainu, bringing the memory-soaked Urdu melody into a brighter, contemporary frame. It marked Khan's Coke Studio debut, with her poised delivery set against Azhar's more animated phrasing. Guest musician Shehroze Hussain supplies the sitar, while the house band moves between a restrained lounge texture, muted guitar and a buoyant dholki-led pulse. Meaning & Translation
Hina ki khushbu means "the fragrance of henna." The song treats that scent as a carrier of romantic memory. Its Urdu passages imagine the fragrance still inhabiting the lover's breath, with music rising to the lips and desire taking the shape of a ghazal. The Punjabi section makes the longing more direct, asking the beloved to remain close and not break the bond. Henna evokes celebration, intimacy and wedding ritual, while its lingering perfume suggests that love can survive absence. The title is therefore more than a literal scent: it becomes shorthand for a presence that remains vivid after someone has gone.
