Sasu Mangay brought folk vocalist Naseebo Lal together with rock singer Umair Jaswal for the opening episode of Coke Studio Season 9 in August 2016. Music director Shiraz Uppal reshaped a Rajasthani wedding folk song for the studio, while Strings produced the session. The arrangement begins with mouth percussion and traditional rhythmic textures before folding in an acoustic pulse and Western rock chords. That contrast gives each vocalist a distinct lane: Naseebo Lal carries the earthy melody with her commanding range, while Jaswal answers with a rougher, amplified attack. Sasu Mangay means "the mother-in-law asks for" or "the mother-in-law demands." Her exaggerated replies turn that pressure into comic defiance: separation from her beloved would feel worse than any chore or sacrifice.
