The original, written by Jawed Qureshi and composed by Tassadduq Shad, belonged to the golden age of the Malika-e-Tarannum's playback singing, and here it passes to one of Pakistan's most recognizable voices for a new generation of listeners.

Music producer Saad Sultan builds the arrangement around a soft pulse of electronic beats, then threads in harmonium and tabla so the classical spine of the ghazal stays intact. Atif keeps his delivery restrained and aching, letting the melody breathe instead of belting it. Filmed in Dubai by director David Zennie, the single arrived amid a 2021 run in which Atif revisited South Asian classics, carrying a decades-old ghazal to streaming-era audiences.
