The Story Behind Suna Suna
Suna Suna is Fuzon's romantic ballad from Journey, the band's second studio album, released in 2008. Rameez Mukhtar provides the vocals, placing it in the group's period after Shafqat Amanat Ali's departure. In a 2011 interview, Mukhtar named Suna Suna and Neend Na Aaye among the Journey songs that showcased his voice.
Contemporary coverage described Suna Suna as a soft, sad love song and reported that former Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram and his wife would appear in its music video. The band explained that Akram already knew its members and wanted to take part. Within Journey's eleven-track sequence, the recording comes second, immediately after Neend Na Aaye. Its repeated title gives the song a simple verbal hook, keeping the sense of absence at the centre of a romantic plea.
Meaning & Translation
Suna Suna means "empty" or "desolate", repeated for emphasis. Here it describes the atmosphere left behind when a loved person is about to go. The singer asks the beloved to stay, treating separation as something that changes the whole world around him rather than just his own mood.
Memories offer closeness, but they also make the absence harder to bear. The song returns to that tension: affection remains vivid while the person who gives it meaning may leave. Its romantic appeal is an intimate request for companionship, with longing expressed through emptiness and recollection.
