Kiani had released "Kamli" in 2017 as the fourth chapter of Wajd, pairing a folk composition with poetry credited to Baba Bulleh Shah. "Kamli" is the Punjabi feminine form for someone regarded as mad or foolish, but Baba Bulleh Shah's Sufi imagery turns that label into a badge of spiritual absorption. The speaker is so consumed by love that ordinary judgment loses its authority. Her beloved can be heard as a human figure and as the divine, while outward journeys and rituals matter less than recognizing what already lives within.
