Ishq Khuda

The Story Behind Ishq Khuda

Ishq Khuda pairs Khurram Iqbal's vocals with Fuzon's composition for the 2014 film Heartless, with words by S.K. Khalish. The recording appears on the film's T-Series soundtrack, and Fuzon's own channel preserves the complete five-minute song in an official upload from April 2014. Label-supplied track metadata also credits Fuzon with production.

The melody's classical inflections sit within the band's clean, balanced arrangement. Reviewing the soundtrack for Bollywood Hungama, Rajiv Vijayakar highlighted the tabla's small but expressive role and Iqbal's handling of the tune's upper register, listing Ishq Khuda among his album picks. His response draws attention to the performance and orchestration: the vocal line carries the emotion while the percussion adds detail around it. The song brings Fuzon's musical identity into a film soundtrack through a distinct voice and a carefully shaped melody.

Meaning & Translation

Ishq Khuda means "love is God" in the song's refrain, expressing love as a source of grace and devotion. Its Hindi and Urdu vocabulary is joined by a Punjabi refrain that turns a question about love into a moment of recognition. The speaker feels the beloved's presence everywhere, longs for their company and treats affection with the seriousness of worship. Words associated with prayer and surrender give an intimate love song a spiritual register. The emotional movement is from wondering what love means to accepting how completely it changes one's life, leaving human attachment and divine devotion open to the same reading.
