Raanjhan is a Punjabi form of Ranjha, the legendary lover from Heer Ranjha, and it can also mean a beloved or devoted lover. The song uses that name as both an address and a symbol of love that has become inseparable from identity. Its speaker begins with wishes for the beloved's safety and closeness, but the mood darkens as distance, betrayal, and uncertainty take over. The familiar image of Heer calling for Ranjha turns private heartbreak into a larger folk metaphor: loving someone so completely that separation feels like losing part of oneself.
