Jatan OST

The Story Behind Jatan OST

Jatan's title song brings together Vicky Akbar and Sanam Sabri for ARY Digital's drama about a young woman's struggle for love and justice. Wajid Saeed composed the recording, and Fatima Najeeb wrote its lyrics. The broadcaster published this three-minute, fifteen-second OST on its official YouTube channel in November 2017.

Rida Isfahani plays Arzoo, who finds comfort in Zahir, played by Babar Khan, while her stepmother and relatives repeatedly obstruct her happiness. Written by Nusrat Shamshad, the serial puts sacrifice and perseverance at the heart of that relationship. Its theme is a duet, with both vocalists explicitly billed by the broadcaster. That pairing gives the soundtrack two voices alongside a story of affection complicated by rivalry and family pressure.

Meaning & Translation

Jatan means effort or endeavour in Urdu, and can also carry a sense of care or carefulness. "Striving" is a useful English reading here: the word suggests sustained work toward something that matters. In the drama's context, that effort belongs to Arzoo, whose search for love and justice meets resistance within her own family. Read through that premise, the title evokes the care needed to protect a relationship and the persistence needed to keep pursuing a better life. This interpretation explains the title's connection to the serial, rather than offering a translation of the song's verses.
