The Story Behind Kab Mere Kehlaoge OST
Adnan Dhool sings and wrote the lyrics for Kab Mere Kehlaoge OST, with the composition credited to Soch Band. ARY Digital released the title theme in December 2017 for Seema Sheikh's serial, directed by Umer Gulzari and Muhammad Shafiq. The drama follows Ujala and Mohsin, whose childhood match becomes a marriage on paper when family pressure forces Mohsin to sign the nikkah, even as his relationship with Faria unravels under the hidden truth. That premise gives the song's title question its dramatic weight. With one billed singer, the performance is framed as an intimate appeal rather than an ensemble statement, and the title turns the story's conflict into a question of recognition: when will a formal bond become an openly accepted relationship?
Meaning & Translation
Kab Mere Kehlaoge can be rendered in English as "When will you be called mine?", or more naturally, "When will you truly be mine?" The question is less about possession than recognition. The speaker is waiting for a reluctant beloved to accept a bond that already feels emotionally real. Within the drama, that longing echoes Ujala and Mohsin's paper marriage: a legal tie exists before trust, tenderness, or willing commitment. The title therefore carries both hope and hurt. It asks when duty will turn into chosen love, when distance will give way to acknowledgment, and when the relationship can be named without secrecy or hesitation.
